It scares the crap out of me but its morbidly catchy and it makes me zone out. I had forgotten just how much I love this band's music. I'm really excited to hear more from them.

Hands In The Sky (Big Shot)

Big shot screaming, "Put your hands in the sky,"
He says, "Give it up boy, give it up or you're gonna die,
You'll get a bullet in the back of the neck,
In the back of the neck right between the eyes."

In Honor Of 6 Months And A Long Overdue Update.

This song, to me, is the epitome of all classic romance/slow fade-out last dance songs. Who doesn't love some cliche? But, really, 6 months deserves it.

I Wish You Love

i wish you bluebirds in the spring,
to give your heart a song to sing.
and then a kiss, but more than this,
i wish you love.
and in july a lemonade,
to cool you in some leafy glade.
i wish you health,
but more than wealth,
i wish you love.

He sounds so desperate for his "Marigold" that it's almost painful to listen to. Everybody should at least TRY some Rufus. He's fantastic.

Rebel Prince

it's these windows all around me,

it's these windows who are telling me,

to rid my dirty mind of all of its preciousness.

Never Lose Your Sense Of Wonder

Artist: Yeti
Album: Sense Of Wonder EP
Song: Never Lose Your Sense Of Wonder

This song is adorable. It's great for when you're in a crappy-ass mood and you need some cheering. The first 20-or-so seconds of "Never Lose Your Sense Of Wonder" reminds me of a Beatles song.

Never Lose Your Sense Of Wonder

go give a little piece to others,
take a piece for yourself.
never lose your sense of wonder,
even if you lose all else.

For two reasons: The name of the blog and the release of the new Avett Brothers album (the one from which this song came) today.

"16 In July" makes me feel nostalgic and peaceful. It reminds me of running around in summer with my best friend at a family acquaintance's farm; hiding in tall grass and playing on a tree swing. Good times.

16 In July

were you in love like me?
or at least as in love as you can be
when you’re 16 in july?
